Ghanaian Presbyterian Church of Toronto dedicates new Chapel

The moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso, is in Toronto at the invitation of Presbyterian Church of Canada to join them as partners to dedicate the new Toronto Ghanaian Presbyterian Chapel and also to attend the Presbyterian Church of Canada General Assembly meeting as a special guest.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso is the 15th Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. He was elected in 2004 for a 6-year term. Before then he was a lecturer at the Trinity Theology Seminary at Legon and also the Chairperson of the Asante Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church, Ghana.

Other members who accompanied the moderator from Ghana are, Rev. Herbert Anim Oppong, the clerk of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Ernest O. Dankwa, Chairperson of the Akim Abuakwa Presbytery, Rev. Stephen Alando, First Minister of the Toronto Ghanaian Presbyterian Church and Rev. Akunnor.

The official dedication will take place on Sunday, May 21st 2006 at the Chapel at 2250 Finch Ave. W. (Finch and Hwy 400) at 2:30 p.m.
