Ghanaian Money Remittances Firms Urged To Expand Operations

H.E. Mr Isaac Osei, Ghana?s Envoy to the UK, has urged Ghanaian money remittances firms operating in the UK to consider venturing into the West African market.

He said there was the need for them to move ahead in line with changing circumstances considering the fact that the World had become a global village. He said by breaking new grounds into the West African market they would not only bring benefit to their firms but would help to create jobs.

These remarks were made by Mr. Osei when a two-member delegation of the First African Remittances Limited paid a courtesy call on him in London. They are Mr. Chris Nartey, a consultant of the company and Mr. Frank Akuffo, General Manager of the company in the UK

Mr. Osei hoped the First African Remittances Limited as the leader in the field would provide the leadership for other companies to follow. He welcomed the decision of the company to open four more outlets in the UK in addition to its existing two locations and urged Ghanaians to use the services of the company.

On the remittance flow to the country, Mr Osei praised Ghanaians abroad for regularly sending monies home in support of their families and to undertake projects and urged them to increase the level of their remittances.

Mr. Nartey who is also Chief Executive Officer of the Chrisline Investment Services Limited, welcomed the views expressed by the High Commissioner and pointed out that the necessary arrangements had been put in place to make the company more accessible to its clients.

He added that the company was also exploring innovative ways of enticing customers and forming alliances with reputable companies in Europe.
