Ghanaian Ex-Solders Association of Toronto @ Warriors Day parade

The Ghanaian Ex-soldiers were among thousands of Canada’s Veterans who marched in the 89th annual Warrior’s Day Parade at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) on Saturday, August 21st 2010. The Ex-Soldiers who have since 1994 participated in the Parade have won the 2nd place in the marching formation in 2005, 2006 and 2008.

The event, which was established in 1921, originally honoured veterans who served in the First World War. It has since grown to include the men and women who have served or are currently serving in Canada's military, and is the longest-running parade of its kind.

John Nana Kwasi Prempeh, the President of the Association was on that day presented an Award of a Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize Diploma in recognition of his service as a member of the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces who won the Prestigious Nobel Peace Prize in December 10th 1988.

The Diploma was presented by Pierrette Forgie 1st Vice President of the Royal Canadian Legion.
