Ghanaian Dies from Continuing Inhuman British Immigration Policy

Despite the fact that the British tell us of the wonders of freemarkets they continue to deny Ghanaians the freedom to live in the United Kingdom on the pretext that Ghanaians have broken their illegitimate immigration laws. We all know that Africans in order to escape illegitimate laws have had to change their names sometimes not once but a number of times.

Nevertheless free markets assume that Ghanaians must be free to move anywhere they like on God’s earth. Only recently, the British National Party (BNP) whose policy is to deport all Ghanaians and others not white living in the UK should they ever win the national elections asked that Africans who attempted to enter Europe “illegally” should be murdered.

According to Charlotte Chambers of Islington Tribune, a local London newspaper published on 11 September 2009 titled “Deportation prisoner was found hanged”, Delaili Kwadzo Abusah, 28, was found hanged in his cell in March last year. Coroner Dr Andrew Reid “directed” the jury to return a verdict of suicide.

At an inquest into his death on Monday at St Pancras Coroner’s Court, confusion about his real name emerged after it was revealed the identity he went by in prison, Alfredo Castano-Fuentes, along with another made up alias, were not his real names.

Following contact with Mr Abusah’s family in Ghana, it was revealed he had given false names to the Prison Service and was not aged 24 as first thought. He was identified by photographs sent by his family, which matched pictures the Prison Service had on file for him.

He was arrested in north Wales and charged with entering the country illegally after he used a false passport. The court heard he was also served with a deportation notice two weeks before his death.

Julie Rogers, a senior officer at Pentonville who delivered the news of his deportation, said she spent five minutes with him, and he appeared to have expected the order. “He caused me no cause for concern,” she said.

While we note that the same British never came to Africa with visas in the first place, we also note that the British who pride themselves on tolerance and whose High Commissioner in Accra tells us they treat us with civility and respect and uphold our human rights and that race is not the key factor when it comes to issuing visas to Ghanaians do however allow other Europeans to come to the UK without visas. They conveniently call them EEC nationals.

While they continue to deliver inhuman treatment to the Ama Sumanis and Delali Abusahs, there are many Australians living illegally in the UK and because they are white, they are left alone to their devices. We hardly hear of white people being deported while daily we hear of deportations of Africans and Asians. So much for British justice! While the Mayor of London Boris Johnson of the British Conservative party is doing all he can to give Ghanaians in London Amnesty The Labour Government our natural allies do nothing.

We Ghanaians must call for the restoration of the previous commonwealth status when we could come to the UK without a visa so that Ghanaians can freely come and go to the UK without that protracted visa system being operated in Accra as it used to be before it was introduced. We must be free to move around; it is our human right.

The Government of President Mills must also ask for the payment of visa fees to be discontinued with immediate effect because it is an illegitimate British racket for making money through denying us visas while keeping our money.
