Ghanaian Child Rape Suspect Still On The Loose

Prince William County (USA) police are still searching for the Dale City man wanted for the rape of an 8-year-old girl, who court records say is the daughter of a family friend of his.

Kwame Boateng, 43, of 14353 Westway Lane, Apt. 13, is accused of luring the Dale City girl into his apartment around 4 p.m. Friday by telling her he had some childhood pictures of her in his apartment that she needed to get, according to an affidavit for a search warrant on file at Prince William County Circuit Court.

The girl was playing in front of her apartment with a 2-year-old neighbor when Boateng told her to come get the pictures, the document states.

She and the 2-year-old went to his apartment, according to the affidavit, where Boateng walked them into his bedroom and showed the victim a picture of her.

Police say Boateng then made the 2-year-old leave the bedroom and then raped the girl, the affidavit states.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the girl had been assaulted several other times since September 2004, police said.

The warrants for Boateng's arrest are on charges of rape, indecent liberties and aggravated sexual battery. The last two charges stem from the girl's allegations of previous encounters with Boateng, said Officer Erika Hernandez, police spokeswoman.

Police searched Boateng's apartment on Saturday and seized two bedspreads, a T-shirt, a photo album, a passport, a foreign driver's license and several pornographic DVDs.

Hernandez said that police have received several crime solvers tips that investigators are trying to verify.

Police say Boateng is a black man who is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 240 pounds. He may be driving a tan 1995 Nissan Altima.

Authorities said that Boateng knows he is being sought and has been avoiding law enforcement.

Anyone with information regarding Boateng's whereabouts is asked to call Prince William County Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS.

Callers don't have to give their names, just information, and could earn up to a $1,000 cash reward.
