Ghana?s Ambassador to Grace Ghanafest

Ghanaweb, NBC Channel 5 TV News will be there to cover the festival!
July 28 2005, Chicago-The indefatigable Ghana?s ambassador to the United States of America, Mr. Fritz K Poku will be the honorable guest of honor at Ghanafest 2005. The organizers of Ghanafest 2005 announced this to Ghanaweb in a special press briefing in Chicago today.

In another development the organizers confirmed rumors that the CEO of Ghanaweb International, Mr. Francis Akoto will be at the festival to receive a special award for contributions he has made to his country, Ghana and Ghanaian?s abroad.

For the first time in the history of Ghanafest, there is armada of news media covering the festival this year. NBC 5 TV News has expressed interest to cover the function in a call to the organizers today.ABN network TV, a satellite television network, will broadcast the program to over 5 million homes.Sika radio will cover the festival gavel to gavel on the internet. Baring any technical glitch, Ghanaweb team of technicians will try for the second time to cover the program live on their website! There are a large number of print news all over from the United States and Canada covering the festival. They will be led by the popular Dondo Magazine, The African Spectrum, The African Herald and The Ghanaian Times.
Ghanafest-Chicago is the largest African cultural exposition outside the shores of Africa and is organized by the Ghana National Council and its affiliate organizations. The festival is sponsored by the city of Chicago. The main corporate sponsors are Western Union, Annakka Enterprise and Oakley Construction.
The festival will start exactly at 1 PM with a procession of chiefs and Queens.
The vice president of the Ghana National Council, Mr. Ebenezar Nisah asked groups visiting from out of state to report at the African pavilion on the festival grounds to be acknowledged and sited.
