Ghana needs Peace But Not War - NDC Germany.

The NDC Germany communication Directorate has taken a serious swipe at the discriminatory story posted to the ghanaweb.com on 23rd of April 2012 by the opposition NPP Germany by the author – Kwaku Anane-Gyinde over Hon. Ken Agyapong’s treasonable statement by which cause they (NPP Germany) dare calling on the International community, particularly Ghana’s development partners review their relations with the Mills-Mahama administration by imposing a travel ban on all Ghanaian government officials against Mills’ administration dealing accordingly with Hon. Ken Agyapong..

Here I quote “as a first step we urge the European Union to impose an EU-wide ban on all Ghanaian government officials to send a clear signal that Europe will not support vicious tyrants and brutal dictators”. Desperate NPP Gurus charged.

NPP-Germany reminds Ghanaians that if anybody is to stand trial for treason, it should be President Mills who in 2008 declared that Ghana will be like Kenya if the election does not go HIS WAY”

A communiqué released by NDC Germany and signed by Chris Mensah and Karim Abilla (members of NDC Germany communication Team) call on all discerning and well meaning Patriotic citizenry of Ghana to uncertain terms condemn this unhealthy statements and initiatives.

The communiqué further highlighted “the diabolic plots of NPP to cause unrest and destabilize the peace of the country explains the hypocritical, arrogant and divides and rule characteristic nature of NPP” and therefore persuade Ghanaian electorates to vote against them (NPP), come December 7 general elections.

Friday April 13, the NPP firebrand, Hon Ken Agyapong popularly known by his admirers as “Akompreko” made a statement which the police believed to be treasonable comments on his own Radio station (Oman FM) at Madina Zongo junction - a popular arena known as Hollywood in Accra.

He (Kennedy Agyapong) was however arrested on Monday 16th of April 2012 for making such inflammatory comments and declaring war in Ghana without any recourse to reasoning and common sense, publicly called on Akans to bloodbath Ewes and Gas – same Volta region (Adidome) where his legitimate wife with four biological children hail from and (Accra) same region where (he) Agyapong hustles for his daily bread. His party Boss Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey comes from Accra.

“Today, I declare war in this country, Gbevlo-Lartey and his people, IGP should know this. Voltarians in the Ashanti Region will not be spared. If anyone touches you, butcher him with a cutlass…”NPP King-Kong and “warlord” Agyapong commanded.

As he was in the grips of the law enforcement agencies, it became apparent that, his (Agyapong) comfortable and self air-conditioned sleeping place had to be changed for three nights to show that, no one was above the law of the land.

He was thus charged with three counts of treason, treason felony and genocide and later granted bail by the Accra Fast Track High Court in the sum of GH¢200,000 with one surety to be justified on Thursday 19th April, 2012.

Meanwhile, (the whole) His Excellency Vice President John Mahama for and on behalf of the Government has condemned the inflammatory and ethnocentric comments by New Patriotic Party (NPP) firebrand “Akompreko” Kennedy Agyapong (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North.

Other high leveled personalities who joined the condemning crusade include Mr. K.B Asante – (elderly statesman and former diplomat), Hon. P.C. Ofori-(NPP MP for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa) Kojo Asante (a senior Research officer- centre for Democratic Development)

Gurus of other Political parties to condemn “warlord” Ken Agyapong’s revolutionary comments include: Bernard Morrnah – (PNC General Secretary), Kofi Asamoah – (PPP National Secretary).

What beats and astonishes Ghanaians was when Ghana’s most security analyst – Emmanuel Bombande said Akompreko’s statement could risk plunging Ghana into tribal conflict.

The NDC communication office would like to make it clear that,” Ghana needs peace and unity with common destiny. Ghanaians for time immemorial have been living peacefully as one nation devoid of tribalism. Inter-cultural marriages, religious faiths and festivities have brought us together. We will not need any person or group of persons to bring divisive indoctrination amongst us.”

On this note, it’s rather very unfortunate and degrading on the part of NPP Germany and their cohorts who acknowledge themselves as Ghanaians should appraise such barbaric act when all civil society and groups are condemning and praying against it.
