Ghana Housing Exhibition In Toronto Rescheduled

The much-anticipated Ghana Housing Exhibition which was to open on Saturday July 12, 2003 has been rescheduled to Saturday & Sunday July 26 and 27 respectively.

A statement from Positive Options Canada, local organizers of the Exhibition in Toronto and confirmed by Dr. Alex Tweneboah., Deputy Marketing and Publicity Director of the Ghana Real Estate Development Association (GREDA) in Accra attributed the rescheduling of the event to consular problems encountered by some of the participating companies at the Canadian High Commission in Accra and other logistics problems. Speaking to The Ghanaian News from his office in Accra, Dr. Tweneboah said that as at Monday July 7, 2003, five days to the opening of the Exhibition only eleven out of an estimated twenty-eight representatives of the participating companies had received their Entry Visas from the Canadian High Commission in Accra. This put a lot of pressure on other logistic aspects of the event and the GREDA members could not have arrived in Toronto by Friday July 11 for the event.

The problems have now been rectified and the much-anticipated Ghana Housing Exhibition in Toronto, Canada is now scheduled to open on Saturday July 26 and run until Sunday July 27, 2003. The venue is still the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Convention Centre, 1677 Wilson Avenue in the Jane and Finch District of North York, Toronto. The key-note speech will be delivered by His Excellency Samuel A. Odoi Sykes, Ghana High Commissioner in Canada.
