Ghana Embassy Launches 'Ghana: Our Heritage'

The Embassy of Ghana in Washington DC and Francom Travel and Tours in Ghana will launch “Ghana: Our Heritage”, a tourism documentary on Ghana. The launching ceremony, scheduled for tomorrow, October 24, 2003, will highlight in detail the rich cultural heritage of the country particularly historical monuments and eco-tourism.

The ceremony is part of activities outlined by the Embassy, Francom Travel and Tours with support from Ghana Tourist Board and the Ministry of Tourism to promote Ghanaian tourism in the US and around the world.

It also forms part of the Embassy’s goal to encourage and recognize Tourism as a priority area in the overall developmental program of the economy and thus one of the areas for diversifying and expanding the base for foreign exchange earnings.

In attendance will be Ghanaian government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, US government agencies, and potential tourists among others.

Additionally, there will be cultural performances to climax the occasion. The ceremony, which is also opened to, the general public starts at 5pm prompt.
