GNC to set Chicagoans on fire!

The Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago (GNC) and the Ghanaian community in Chicago have put in the final preparations to make this years Ghana's Independence Anniversary celebrations a memorable one.

The event will be held at the Four Point Sheraton Hotel, 7353 S Cicero Avenue, Chicago IL.

The Emashie Kpalogo troupe, most of its members are remnants of Wolomei Cultural troupe of Accra, the Borbobor and Adowa cultural troupes were seen by Ghanaweb reporter today practicing feverishly. Joe Atiso, formerly of Rumblers International , was present at the Emashie Cultural troupe's rehearsal and seriously directing and polishing his boys for what they called a "big" debut in the community!

Speaking with the president of the Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago,Mr. Reuben Hadzide, today, he stated that his speech will highlight what needs to be done to make our country great! He emphasized that its about time we all become part of the solution to our country's problems and also tell our leaders what their advisers are not telling them!

An excerpt from Reuben's speech reads "We know we have to face the hard truths and take strong steps, but we have not done so. Instead, we have drifted, and that drifting has eroded our resources, fractured our economy, and shaken our poise."
