Dormaa citizens in Israel donate ambulance

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Jan. 5, GNA - The Dormaa Citizens Union in Israel has donated an ambulance costing 20,000 US dollars to the Presbyterian Hospital at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

Making the presentation Mr Yaw Simon, Financial Secretary, said members of the Union considered the health of the people paramount in their activities.

He said the donation was the union's "widow's mite" towards the improvement of facilities at the hospital to ensure quality health care for the people.

Osagyefo Oseedeeye Agyeman-Badu II (pictured), Omanhene of Dormaa Traditional Area who received the keys of the ambulance, thanked the union for the gesture.

He described the donation as timely as the traditional council was deeply concerned with the health and educational needs of the people. Dr. Steve Ogbordjor, Acting Medical Officer, appealed to individuals and organizations to assist to improve facilities at the hospital. The Omanhene also announced that as a follow up to his recent trip to Europe, Dormaa citizens in Switzerland had donated 1,000 Swiss Francs (About 6.4 million cedis) to the traditional council.
