Democracy does not run in a vacuum…

Says a political activist

Zurich—A political activist, Dr. Abena Keller-Agyepong, has reminded Ghanaians that, “Democracy does not happen in a vacuum, but by the involvement and participation of citizens exercising their right to vote”.

She discounted rumors that Ghana will face political upheavals in the forth-coming elections, adding, “We unfortunately have some divisive elements and enemies of the rule of law in our midst, sounding “horns of alarm and fear with predictions of anarchy, social disorder and a blood bath.

“ These according to her are a cowardly measures invented to deter Ghanaians from excising their democratic right to vote, thereby standing up to be counted as useful and proud member of a Democratic Country”.

Dr. Keller-Agyepong, Analytical Psychologist and Psychotherapist and a member of the newly formed Swiss chapter of the Ghana National Patriotic Party (NPP), was speaking at the part’s meeting here, to raise funds for the party. to help the Campaign of Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo

Also speaking at the gathering Mr. Martin Peprah, a staunch member of the party stressed the need for members to help the NPP continue the good work stared under the leadership of President Kuffour and to vote Nana Akuffo Addo NPP Presidential Aspirant, into power as the next President of Ghana.

“He is a trusted partner in helping to continue the democratic process we have come to accept and enjoy in Ghana. Nana will be able and capable of steering the process in a healthy and sustainable direction,” he declared.

The Mood was vibrant and highly charged with singing of songs and shouting slogans of the NPP. “Better late than never” was the thoughts of the members as they raise an amount of CHF 2,000 The amount was swiftly dispatched to the Campaign of Nana Akuffo Addo.

Some of the founding members present were Mr. Kwame Darko of Tropical Home an African Specialty Shop in Zürich, Mr. Kofi Darko, Mr.Twumasi Ankrah, and Mr.Amos Amoh, Mr. .Henry Nyarko, Mr Daniel Mensah, Mr. Wiafe Mensah, Ms.Cecilia Oswald, Mr. Nsuta Kramo Ms.Cecilia Konadu Ms. Akosua Tiwaah and Ms Mariama Serwaa.

On an earlier occasion in Accra, three Founding Members; Mr. Boakye Yiadom, Mr. Osei Mensah Lord and Ms. Akua Mansah donated 40 crates of drinks to the NPP to help with the Funeral arrangements of the late Honourable Baah Wiredu, as a gesture of their profound sorrow for his untimely death and also to demonstrate their solidarity to the Party.

The newly formed chapter is calling on all NPP Members in Switzerland to come and join them and help move Ghana Forward.
