Delegation from Minnesota State University presents items to KNUST

Kumasi, May 23, GNA - A delegation from Minnesota State University in the USA on Friday presented some medical equipment and books worth about 100,000 dollars to the Department of Nursing at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi. They included, 21 stethoscopes, 20 sphygmomanometer and four packets of tongue depressors.

Professor Miriam Porter, a Lecturer at the University who led the delegation, commended authorities of KNUST, for their immense contribution to technological advancement and research work in Ghana and the world.

"I am impressed with the sterling performance of products of this University in all fields of endeavour," she said. Professor Porter stressed the need for the authorities to step up efforts in improving upon their internal structures, programmes and facilities for an accelerated growth of the University. She said, the gesture was to facilitate academic work at the Nursing Department and optimistic the items would be put to good use. Professor Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa, Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, expressed appreciation to the delegation and urged corporate bodies to collaborate with the authorities in the development of KNUST.
