Chicago loses another trail Blazer

Chicago has lost another long life resident as Rev. Anthony Class-Peters passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2006 in Accra Ghana.

Rev Peters, as he was well known, left Chicago in June of this year to attend the funeral of his late father in Ghana.

On Wednesday, August 2, 2006 he was rushed to the Christ Hospital at Osu Accra. After receiving blood transfusion, he went into coma and died without returning into conscious state.

Rev Peters until his death was an Associate Pastor of The Church of Ghanaian Community of Chicago and also Pastor of the Unity Church Of Ghana, Chicago. He was a founding member of the Church of the Ghanaian Community of Chicago and a vibrant community activist. He has assisted many Ghanaian Institutions through philanthropic works in Ghana.

The Ghanaian community remembers Reverend Peters well with his spell bounding performance in the Axioms of Kwame Nkrumah during the 2006 Independence Anniversary celebrations organized by the Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago. The Fellowship of Ghanaian Churches of Chicago will have a final funeral and memorial service for Reverend Class Peters on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at The African United Methodist Church, 4754 N. Leavitt St. Chicago from 7pm to 12 midnight.
