Break Free Praise: Kwaku Gyasi Rocks Canada in May

The alabaster jar of modern gospel would be broken. Melodious hearts would pour forth great rhythms and excellent music for your dancing feet. With full-throated ease, anointed voices would explode and the Heavens would come down on earth to receive their praises and worship. The message would be sent out in loud speakers and powerful microphones to the black youth in Canada: Break Free. It’s not cool to go to jail.

This is not gospel music as usual. This is serious business by Ghana’s boldest gospel sensation–Kwaku Gyasi–in his most unusual form ever. The ace musician would be touring Canada from 22nd May to 18th June, 2011 to entertain his worldwide fans and music lovers with new scintillating tunes from the stables of the best known gospel music makers. Catch the fun and excitement as the Maestro does what he does best.

The music train will stop at the Canadian Capital of Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and Calgary to thrill Canadians and leave them with something to remember. Official government statistics every year show that the population of the black youth serving time in Canadian jails keeps increasing. Our youth cannot access the enormous development opportunities available in this country if they go to jail. We cannot have a situation where blacks make more than half the prison population, as it is in the USA, where they form just about 12.9 percent of the total American population. The black youth in Canada cannot afford to be another statistic. They would break free from practices and behaviours that would send them to jail. It is time to break free for life.

The black youth in Canada carry the destiny of the black person in this country and remain a significant symbol of identity. Here in Canada, black gangs are noted for more violence, drugs and other immoral acts. This is the time to send a message to our youth, to challenge them to excel in areas where their forebears failed. We cannot play back old excuses and waste time contesting stereotypes and prejudices. Now more than ever, we should provoke our young ones to break free and take charge of their future. It is now.

The organisers of the Break Free Tour, 1X1 Promotions based in Ottawa, have laid the grounds for the most powerful gospel music concert that ever hit the soils of Canada. It is going down in the history books as the only gospel concert that put the theme before the music and rocked the two together as one. You cannot afford to miss this event for anything. Be part of it and help promote the cause of our young ones. All proceeds would be donated to support charity events in Ghana.
