Asantemankuo-Finland Donates To Hospitals

The Asantemankuo-Finland, has donated Omron fully digital blood pressure monitors with upper arm-fitting cuffs to some hospitals in Ghana. The estimated cost of the donation is about 6,000 euros and was financed by individual contributions of its members. The Asantemankuo is a registered association under Finish Laws governing social associations and clubs. The main aims of the association are to promote the welfare of its members, promote peaceful coexistence with other people/associations and contribute to the development of Asanteman and Ghana in general.

Making the presentation on behalf of the association on the 17th of July 2007, at St. Patrick?s Hospital in Offinso, Messer?s Kwaku Boahen and George Afriyie, members of the association who were on holiday visits to Ghana, said the donation was in fulfillment of the association?s commitment to preventive health care and in response to the increasingly heart and stroke related diseases among some section of Ghanaians. Experts estimate that about 29% of Ghanaians are hypertensive and heart related disease is the fifth cause of death. They urged Ghanaians to develop healthy life styles and cultivate the habit of routine conscious physical exercises such as jogging and skipping over rope to reduce their risk to heart related diseases.

Receiving the equipments on behalf of his colleagues in the Ahafo Ano North Government Hospital-Tepa, S.D.A Hospital-(Abena Kwabena Memorial)-Asaman, Mamponteng and Aboaso Hospital-Mamponteng, Assin Akropong Clinic & Fosu Catholic Hospitals-Assin Fosu and Efiduase Government Hospital-Effiduase, the Administrator of St. Patrick?s Hospital, thanked members of the association for their selfless spirit and urged all Ghanaians to contribute to quality health delivery.
In a related development, the AsantemanKuo, Finland would be formally inaugurated with pomp and pageantry in Helsinki on the 18th of August 2007 and cordially invites all friends and Ghanaians.
