Arrest Yaw Boateng Gyan Now -Npp Germany

Nearly a month after the revelation that the ruling NDC had recruited people into the National Security with the sole purpose of causing mayhem in the December 7 elections, the architect of this treasonable act Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan, National Organizer of the NDC still remains a free man.
NPP Germany wishes to state in the strongest terms our disgust and apprehension at the unwillingness of the Ghana Police Service to apprehend Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan for questioning despite the seriousness of the plot and the widespread public demand for action.
Like other Ghanaians, NPP-Germany finds it totally unacceptable that a matter of such national importance with very serious implications for the peace and stability of the country has so far not received the needed attention and action from the Ghana Police Service. Although a direct threat to our constitutional order, the police administration has as yet not brought any action against Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan. The failure/unwillingness on the part of the Ghana Police service either deliberately or otherwise to institute any action against the National Organizer of the NDC raises questions about the neutrality and integrity of the Police Service in the performance of their duties. It has also left many Ghanaians very skeptical and suspicious about the sincerity in the IGP Mr Paul Tawiah Quaye´s recent assurances to the public.
NPP Germany believes that it is not too late for the Ghana Police Service to salvage its sinking image and loss of public confidence arising from their failure to act on Yaw Boateng Gyan´s treasonable offence.
More disgusting is the revelation that this reckless and mischievous plot to destabilize the country is being funded by the Ministry of Finance with tax payers´ money with the full knowledge, consent and approval of the Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Dufour. This comes at a time when over 2000 Ex-service men have not been paid their pension for nearly two years, Junior Nurses and Midwives have not received salaries for 10 Months, Junior Doctors, Consultants and Government Pharmacists were forced to embark on industrial action to press home their demands for their salaries and allowances. In the midst of all this the NDC government led by John Dramani Mahama has found it appropriate to channel the country`s limited resources into training and arming their supporters to disrupt the election and cause mayhem all in an attempt to entrench themselves in power against the will of Ghanaians.
NPP Germany is convinced that the peace and security of Ghana is of utmost importance. Hence the disclosure that the National Security Coordinator Lt Col(Rtd) Larry Gbevlo Lartey has been an active participant and a willing accomplice in this diabolical plot should be a matter of concern to all peace-loving Ghanaians. Clearly the National Security Coordinator has himself been implicated in the plot and it would be unrealistic to think that he would come out with any fair and unbiased results. A cardinal principle of the rule of Law is that a person cannot be a judge in his own case. Against this backdrop NPP Germany considers it an insult to all Ghanaians and a travesty of Justice to assign the duty of investigating this crucial national issue to the National Security Coordinator who himself is a suspect in this case.
In the just ended campaign/thank you tour President John Dramani Mahama used every opportunity to reassure Ghanaians that he will ensure that there is “peace before, during and after the elections” We wish we could believe him, but unfortunately we find it difficult to do so because his long silence over the issue coupled with his refusal to condemn Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan who is also a Presidential Staffer smacks of hypocrisy and double standards. This has compelled us to come to the inescapable conclusion that the President is not sincere in his utterances and that he is only paying lip service. It is important to remind President Mahama that peace is not just the absence of war but the absence of the conditions of war.
As patriotic citizens interested in and concerned with the peace, security and stability of our country, NPP Germany makes the following demands.
1- The immediate dismissal of My Yaw Boateng Gyan as a Presidential Staffer by President John Dramani Mahama
2- The immediate arrest and subsequent prosecution of Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan as required by Law
3- The removal of Lt Col (Rtd) Larry Gbevlo Lartey as National Security Coordinator
4- The Finance Minister Dr Kwabena Dufour should be compelled to appear before the Public Accounts Committee to explain how much money he has so far expended on this plot.
Finally, NPP Germany wishes to restate that Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan, National Organizer of the NDC, Lt Col.(Rtd) Larry Gbevlo Lartey, NatIonal Security Coordinator and Dr Kwabena Dufour, the Finance Minister have jointly and severally become a source of danger to our democracy and a threat to national security. They must therefore be brought to justice in accordance with the laws of Ghana.
