Anyidoho Buys 60% Shares In Ghanaian Radio Station In The Uk

The dreams of Mr Samuel Koku Anyidoho , Supreme Head of Government Communications and the eyes and ears of the president of Ghana, His Excellency President Professor John Evans Atta Mills to expand his domination of the Ghanaian media and build influence globally, took a radical step when he bought 60% shares in Focus radio, Ghana’s leading radio station in the UK. This in the business sense virtually makes him the main man of Focus Radio.

This agreement to purchase these shares was made between Koku Anyidoho for his company SKA Media Trust Limited , Mr Rex Amankwa and Mr Sankofa Tete Danso, Director of programmes and production on behalf of the management at Focus Radio. Mr Danso signed for the station during his visit to the United States last year to cover President Mills visit to the USA and Canada during which Mr Anyidoho accompanied him .

Under the agreement which took legal effect on the 1st of December, 2011 Mr Koku Anyidoho will

a. Oversee programme direction and contribute to programme content, including exclusive news and immediate government information to Focus Radio b. Receive a percentage of all phone calls to the station due the installation of the premium phone rate system(PPRS) which enables radio stations to make money from callers who call into the station at £1.50 per minute. Financial analysts put the figure at a modest 10% c. Organise training and development sessions at the station for journalists from Ghana and other West African countries d. Invest a monthly amount of 2,500 pounds(5,000 Ghana Cedis) into the activities of the station.

Koku Anyidoho has come very far from his days at Achimota school as a student of excellence, the University of Ghana Legon and the Metropolitan and Allied Bank. Today he stands on the brink of something special in his desire to build a global media empire. The acquisition of such huge amount of shares in a commercial venture in the United Kingdom puts Mr Anyidoho , his associates and partners at the heart of the Ghanaian community and enables him to also to reap huge financial rewards especially from its premium phone rate system(PPRS) where callers can into the station in huge numbers making huge profit for him and the station.

PRO Ghana says ayekoo to Mr Koku Anyidoho and the staff of Radio Focus for this bold business move in our quest to build a better Ghana.

Update 15 January. Mr. Danso has stated in an email to ghanaweb.com that he has not travelled to the USA to have a meeting with Koku Anyidoho or SKA Media trust. Radio Focus does not know any SKA Media trust and there are no plans sharing a bit off. The PPRS installation is untrue. People can find out themselves from BT that the numbers mentioned on the website are charged at standard rates.
