Ambassador Ohene Agyekum Visits Massachusetts

His Excellency Daniel Ohene Agyekum, Ghana’s new Ambassador to the United States of America is scheduled for an official visit to the State of Massachusetts on Friday March 12, 2010.
According to a source close to the Embassy of Ghana in Washington D.C. this will be the Ambassador’s first official trip outside Washington D.C after presenting his credentials to President Barack Obama at the White House. The main objective is to enable the Ambassador to touch base, and interact with the large concentration of Ghanaian communities in and around the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The Ambassador will hold separate meetings with the Governor, the Chamber of Commerce, State Congressional leaders, and the Ghanaian Business Community in Massachusetts and its surrounding States. The primary focus for all these meetings is to initiate discussions about investment opportunities in Ghana and also to facilitate robust foreign direct investments in Ghana, especially, by Ghanaians in the Diaspora.
The climax of the visit, which is the first in a series of similar visits to selected States in the coming months, will be a Town Hall Meeting between the Ambassador and the entire Ghanaian Community in and around New England on Saturday March 13, 2010 @ 11: 00am Eastern Standard Time. The venue is Clark University (320 Jefferson Academic Center) 950 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01610. During the meeting, he is expected to unveil certain socio-economic policy initiatives intended to benefit Ghanaians in and around New England in particular and the United States in general.
All Ghanaian citizens living in and around Massachusetts, their friends and acquaintances are cordially invited to attend and be part of this occasion. Admission is free.
