3,052 registered as dual citizens

The Minister for Interior, Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, yesterday said in Parliament that 3,052 persons have been registered as dual citizens of Ghana within the last two years.

He explained that within 2004 and 2006, the Ministry had received an average of two hundred applications both locally and through Ghana?s missions abroad for processing.

Mr Kan-Dapaah said this in an answer to a question by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lawra-Nandom, Dr Benjamin Kumbuor.

The MP enquired from the Sector Minister the progress his Ministry had made so far in the registration of dual citizens of Ghana.
