“For us, this will be a landmark election and in our point of view, the future is really at stake. In the last few years we have seen a major decline in economic growth, when we found oil and due to the oil discovery, GDP growth hit 15%. Today growth has slumped to 3.5%. Behind these numbers is an even more worrying development because in a country like Ghana, you expect to see Agriculture doing well at the very least.
“However, Agriculture is almost collapsing. Agric which should be the backbone of the economy is growing at 0.04% as at 2015. Manufacturing growth has also been in the negative for the last 3 years – negative 0.5% in 2013, negative 0.8% in 2014 and negative 2% in 2015. So Agric is collapsing and manufacturing is in the negative and yet our President wants to tell us that our economy is resilient.
“Now I don’t understand what resilient means in this context when you look at all the indicators. How can unemployment be increasing, growth be declining, interest rates be high and rising, your debt levels be unsustainable, your health services are deteriorating, you cannot pay teacher training allowances, you cannot pay nursing training allowances, you cannot pay contractors, businesses are collapsing, utility prices are sky rocketing and yet you are claiming that the economy is resilient? This President is clearly out of touch,” the former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana said.
Dr. Bawumia also mentioned the steep fall of the cedi, which was now hovering around 4 cedis to a dollar, after depreciating from GHC1.2 to a dollar in 2009, the four-year ‘dumsor’ scourge and the government’s unbridled borrowing and resort to high taxes, which had killed many businesses and made production in Ghana unattractive.

She threatened to call some names till the NDC officials paid a visit to her in jail and asked her to plead guilty for $3 million. She changed her story immediately and pleaded guilty. The boy who murdered JB Danquah said at first that he was contracted to kill the man. Ken Agyapong said that plainly on TV but the police never got upset and invite him for questioning. If the guy has confessed to the killing as they claim, why then hand over the case to the BNI? Nobody has heard anything about the case since it was handed over to the BNI. And why is the NDC so much on the defensive on this case? The boy did not call anybody's name from the NDC. There is definitely a cover-up and the police is upset at the moment because they thought everybody has forgotten about the case now that the guy has been laid to rest. They fear the MP is raising awareness on the case. This is always what happens when there is a case involving the NDC. They always use threats and intimidation to silence their critics.

What kind of police do we have in this country? Someone makes a very serious allegation on open air radio in connection with a high profile murder case and all the police says is we will invite him at the appropriate time; My GOD!!!! This MP must be invited immediately to provide the evidence, failure of which he must be compelled to do so. As a country, we should not allow people to just make unfounded allegations with clear intentions of maligning others and just get away with it. Our people have lost the sense of honesty, truthfulness and integrity, and some call themselves honorables. It is becoming one too many and we must expose such charlatans. This must not be allowed to go. He must come forth and expose the killers he alleges have been left the hook. This is the only way he can pay an honest tribute to JB, else we should see him as someone who has something to do with the murder.

In Ghana people are just not brave to lay their lives for the truth. How can a 19 year old carry out this complex operation alone without any assistance? How did he mount a ladder twice his height on the building? Was he able to demonstrate this to the police? Is the Police themselves afraid to get to the real suspects if indeed they exist? God who is the final arbiter of all controversies is watching us all and no crime especially as gruesome as the murder of this MP will go unpunished. Gone are the days the Police could use innovative and ingenious methods to arrest murderers in Ghana. These days all they do is to wait for time to pass and the few arrested suspects are released from the prisons for lack of evidence and that is the end. When shall we have a proper investigation of all recent murderers especially since the onset of the 4th Republic?

the MP, Mr. Ening spoke with the P.R.O of the Ghana Police service Mr. Cephas Arthur told him if the MP's service is needed he will be INVITED, not SUMMONED. And even when summoned the MP has indicated that he has the video and the Police Investigation team will bear the responsibility of proving the identities of the occupants of the vehicle and who the owner is.
The MP is NOT HOT in any sense.

The gruesome murder and assassination of J B Danquah Adu Jnr was a plot from the very pits of hell, knowing what he represents and the kind of passion the meaning of his name evokes in sections of Ghana's political divide.
What is disconcerting is, it just didn't stop there, the plans and threats were extended to the NPP Flagbearer until the whistle was blown off of the lid of that plot.
One would have thought with such a revelation, it would have stopped these goons in their tracks, till it came to light, that one of their own, a co-founder and wife of the founder of their party has also been targeted, with attempts actually made on her life.
The police should spare Ghanaians these shenanigans and do their job and bring all the perpetrators of this dastardly and heinous crime to book without fear or favor even if, the culprits are in the Flagstaff House. That is what Ghana wants to see.

The NPP was just praying that the killing of JB Danquah Adu would somehow get tied to the government or NDC so that they can conveniently use that as a cheap trampoline to propel their NPP into office. The NPP made noise that the authorities should move fast in finding and arresting the suspected killer, and this was done. Charges were quickly brought against the killer, and yet again NPP made noise that the court should proceed much faster. This NPP has come to see itself as a party that has a right to bully willy and spill lies wherever and whenever they choose.
Not even twenty four hours had passed after the MP was killed than the NPP started making noise that the killing will help the NPP in its election effort. Some NPP members went as far as stating that there was a conspiracy involving the murder, though no suspect had yet been apprehended.
When a suspect was finally apprehended and charged, the NPP tried to plant worthless propaganda claiming that the suspect was fearful that the authorities wee trying to kill him.
These shameless serial liars did not even give a hoot about the loss of JB Danquah Adu's death. All they cared about was to weave the killing into something sort of governmental conspiracy to help their failing NPP presidential campaign.
There's nothing wrong with anyone claiming that there has been a cover-up. However, the persons alleging a cover-up must be prepared to produce evidence or information that backs their allegations. This the NPP loudmouths will certainly not be able to step up to the plate. This too will fail just like their other many serial lies have fallen by the way side.

The boy has admitted his involvement in the heinous murder of the MP. Why the police keep on massaging the case, making it looks like, the boy is lying or some sort. Surely, it's more likely that, some key players are implicated in the case. It is my believe, they will continue to distort the facts of the case. This case is different from dozen of cases in the country, of which BNI aren't participated in an ongoing investigation.
