While I agreed perfectly with the police commander about the rather unfortunate expression "team zaa bonyeni la", I still remain skeptical about the real effort of the majority of the police in the area to fight crime. There were instances suspected robers mentioned names of police officers and next they found loitering about. Why?

worse of it is that even the police themselves are now being robbed. a whole patrol team had its car battery stolen while they snowed away. maybe the police themselves need security.

Crime is against the state. Are the police suggesting that if somebody is murdered they are going to allow the case to be withdrawn and settled at home for the same reason.

When there is a crime and it goes to court for the judge to give the appropriate punishment, you need the complainant to agree to go ahead with the case. Even if the police sees a robbery and makes arrest and it goes to court ... read full comment
When there is a crime and it goes to court for the judge to give the appropriate punishment, you need the complainant to agree to go ahead with the case. Even if the police sees a robbery and makes arrest and it goes to court, if the one who was robbed says there was no robbery then there is no case. The complainant must be willing to pursue the case unless its a crime like rape and a few others.
