Your Honor, I very much appreciate your uncompromising position on the armed robbery cases that come before you. I however find it somewhat worrisome when you sentence them to serve concurrent terms for multiple heinous crimes. Very many people would prefer the death penalty imposed for armed robbery but if your hands are tied because Ghana's laws do not allow for that kind of penalty then we should be looking at something close to life imprisonment so that the streets are completely rid of these abominable miscreants. I hope, going forward, you will at the very least make them serve consecutive rather than concurrent terms. Thank you so much, Your Honor, for your time.

Mike, I think the charges although numerous, were committed at the same time and same crime so, the sentences have to be concurrent. This forces the criminal to serve the longest of the many sentences... It is done everywhere ... read full comment
