Good judge, why should the so called robber be detained and not brought before a judge for a year, the prosecutors need to answer to the IGP.

Its surprising the way almost everyone here seems to have swept the armed robbery crime under the carpet. Much as it's very wrong to keep an armed robber suspect in remand for a year without a trial, this does not negate his crime. This was an armed robbery. The woman could have been killed in the robbery. One year is nothing for armed robbery. He should still be tried and be sentenced to 7 to 10 years minus the one year he has spent in remand. There is a twisted justice system in Ghana, where one hungry person is jailed ten years for stealing 10 tubers of yam and another is set free after a year on remand for committing armed robbery.
