Our justice system is not fit for purpose. How many years are those stealing the future of our country being jailed? They loot millions and billions of cedis and go scot free.

Tell that to the person who lost his money. The everage Ghanaian may not make more than $200 a month.. Do the maths on the value. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. At least the public is 35 years safe from him.

It is the comparison here. Someone steals $6 million then that person go in for 7 years. Do you see the disparity?
It is not an emotional argent we are making. It is the fairness and justice. Note justice is not for the victim only. It is also for the convicted else, someone who steal a foul will be sentenced to death.

Our dishonorables destroy state property and go unpunished. Our misleaders steal zillions and are walking free and making noises around. Yes, $50,000 is a lot of money but peanut as compared to what the politicians, CEOs, heads of institutions etc steal. If those people are walking free then there is absolutely no reason why this man must must be jailed. When our justice system behaves this way then we have to join rebellious organizations and take the laws into our own hands. If the system is not just then we must exercise justice our own way.

Why should he be slapped with a paltry maybe 3 years so that he comes back to enjoy his crime? If we are calling for those who stold bigger amounts and were given less years, that is justifiable. They should equally increase their sentences to reflect the crime.
