Trader faces murder charge

Accra April 6, GNA - A 35-year-old trader who allegedly murdered his girlfriend and dumped her in a dust bin at Tabora, a suburb in Accra, on Tuesday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court. Bismark Boadu, whose plea was not taken, is facing a charge of murder. Boadu is said to have quarrelled with the deceased, Naomi Okaikor Hammon= d, during which he was alleged to have struck her twice in the back with a hammer This was after the deceased had hit him (Boadu) with a bowl in the head. The court, however, remanded Boadu into Prison custody to reappear on Tuesday May 4.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Adamu Awal, informed the court that a post mortem had been conducted and the Police were yet to receive the report. The facts before the court were that, the deceased, aged 28 years, was a=

sales girl staying with her husband at Akweteman in Accra. Boadu who stays at Tabora in Accra alleged that the deceased was his=

girlfriend. During the night of March 19 this year, at about 20:00 hours, Boadu invi= ted the deceased into his room at Tabora. During the meeting, a quarrel erupted and he hit the deceased twice in her back with a hammer. Boadu after murdering Naomi concealed her body in a black plastic dust b= in and pushed her to a spot by the roadside at Tabora where he dumped the bo= dy. On March 20, this year, Naomi's body was discovered and a report was mad= e to the Police. In Boadu's Caution Statement, he confessed killing the deceased.
