One of two suspects who escaped from police cells at the Kadjebi Police Station in the Oti Region on Saturday, September 20, 2025, has been re-arrested, while the other remains at large.

The Kadjebi Police Command has offered a GH₵2,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the second suspect.

According to Superintendent Frank Nana Asomaning, the Kadjebi District Police Commander, the two suspects exploited the fact that only one officer was on duty, to escape.

The report by GNA, on Monday, September 22, 2025, indicated that the suspect reportedly broke the cell door, assaulted the female officer, and escaped.

The officer, identified as L/Cpl Gyapong, was rushed to St Mary Theresa Catholic Hospital, where she is receiving treatment.

Superintendent Asomaning confirmed that one of the escapees was re-arrested on Sunday, September 21, 2025, and is now back in custody.

Efforts are underway to re-arrest the second suspect, and an investigation into the incident has begun.
