The Ghana Police Service has declared three individuals, identified as Dauda, Huefe, and A.T., wanted in connection with a robbery attack on Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea on the Ahyiresu–Kwame Dwumor Sreso (KDS) road.

The police are urging the public to assist with any information that could lead to their arrest.

In a statement issued on April 16, 2026, and signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Godwin Ahianyo, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, the announcement follows what authorities describe as a significant breakthrough in the investigation.

This came after a coordinated operation involving multiple police units, including the Police Intelligence Directorate Headquarters, the Anti-Robbery Unit, CID Headquarters, as well as the Ashanti South and Ashanti Regional Commands.

So far, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack, which took place on April 12, 2026, in the Nyinahin District.

The incident resulted in the death of Dominic Frimpong, a player for Berekum Chelsea FC.

Police explained that the Inspector-General of Police immediately directed a special intelligence team to support regional efforts to track down those responsible following the incident.

Acting on intelligence, officers carried out an operation on April 15, 2026, at Atimatim in Kumasi, where they arrested Mohammed Ahmed, also known as “I Can Do,” believed to be the leader of the robbery group, along with another suspect, Bawa Gideon.

A search conducted during the operation led to the recovery of several items, including a pistol loaded with two rounds of .32 ammunition, 11 BB cartridges, pepper spray, desert boots, assorted mobile phones, and a black pullover.

During questioning, Mohammed Ahmed reportedly admitted involvement in several robbery cases, including incidents at Nkawie and Fufuso, where a mobile money vendor was targeted, as well as the robbery connected to the killing of the footballer.

He further named Dauda, Huefe, and A.T. as accomplices who are currently at large.
