Passengers onboard a Sprinter Bus travelling to Kumasi from Sunyani on Friday, September 12, 2025, were traumatised when about five armed robbers, who had earlier blocked the road, robbed them of all their belongings.

A victim among the distraught passengers, who were about 20 in number, recounted that they were robbed at gunpoint at about 1:00 A.M. between Tweapease and Mfensi, near the Moments of Glory Prayer Army (MOGPA).

According to him, all their valuable items, including phones, handbags, and purses, were seized by the merciless robbers.

According to a CitiNews report, a victim, Samuel Effah, who went through the ordeal meted out to them by the robbers, confirmed the robbery incident.

Effah is also reported to have said that, though no casualties occurred, the victims have been completely traumatised by the worst experience they had at the hands of the robbers who operated with guns.

The deplorable nature of the road has exposed commuters to frequent armed robbery attacks. Yet, despite their constant calls on local authorities to help fix their roads, the situation has yielded no positive outcome, as their road network continues to deteriorate.
