    Figure discrepancies are sure signs of corruption. Lack of transparency and accountability are the bane of our existence. We continue to wallow in poverty because the folks who are in charge are all corrupt.

    Ibn Batuta, you're right, it's a sure sign of corruption, especially as the govt's figures are less than the company's. GNPC, if they are the operators, are nothing more than a vehicle for stealing for Mahama.

    Thought the Saltpond well(s) belongs to a private entity. If so why is the govt being asked to shut it down. The owners should have sense enough to shut it down if the operating cost is too high.

    Dear Prof,
    I'm surprised (but not disappointed) that you couldn't buttress your claims with real figures about the so-called discrepancies in the low production levels.
    Set a good example for your students next time.
