This is the reason why Ghana must process their cocoa beans into final and semifinal products for local consumption and export. This EU rules are to niftly control ‘economies’ under the pretext of climate change. Can cocoa farms in forest regions be expanded in the future without EU raising hell? What about unproductive old cocoa farms due to soil degradation over decades of land use? Ramp up the industrial processing of your local agriculture products before export, and enhance cocoa storage facilities as well.
