You can't blame this generation because they're talking about what they're seeing and hearing currently. The older generation have had the opportunity of seeing both the old and new play and can attest to who is who. I can confidently say the greatest ever footballer ever in Ghana with all due respect is Osei Kofi then called the "Dribbling Magician." Aggrey Finn was equally good, and so were a few others. Abedi iwas good but nowhere near Osei Kofi (Rev) and Aggrey Fynn. Remember they played for the love of the game and not money.

That is your view, I dony know how these would have peformed in Europe against better and tougher opposition. Sadly, we are using the exploits Abedi made in Europe to place him as the greatest and that is what counts.

I hundred percent agree with you. There are two scenarios, that is those who played in the past when there were no foreign professionals and this ages Internet and those who played in the past as an Amateurs. I have had the privilege to have seen all. In actual fact I have been a football Referee for 22 years in between the older and the present times. Rev Osei Kofi was in 1969 given a thirty thousand pounds contract to play Stoke City in England but because of his love for the country and his club Asante Kotoko he declined that contract. In 1975 I refereed a high profile match between Great Falcos and Kpehe Olympic Babies at Alajo, it was like Kotoko and a Hearts of Oak match. I told a friend I went to the match with that Falcos number 10 would be a great player. and that player is Abedi Pele. We should remember that Ghanaian players have won African Footballers of the year twice long before Abedi. They are Sunday Ibrahim in 1971 And Golden Boy Abdul Razak in 1978. All said and done I would choose Rev Osel Kofi as Ghana's all time best with Aggrey Fynn, C K Gyamfi, Mohamed Polo and a few others. During those times there were no Internet and the social Media as is pertaining now.

Hi brother , as we look for the future, we shouldn't forget the past. History helps to measure our achievements. I know Abedi in his colts league days. He was not technically gifted like Olla body and Nii Moi polo, those days. He loves the game and exploited selfishness into his game to achieve his personal ambition and popularity, and nothing for his country Ghana. In the last afcon won by Ghana he was not a main component of the team but integral and was a substitute for the final game with Libya. But C K Gyamfi, Aggrey Fynn, Addo Odametey, Baba Yara and Osei Kofi were great masters of the game and Ghana football achieved greatness by these players. Even I will not put Abedi Pele in the same class of players like Mohammed Polo, Abdul Razak, Adolf Armah, Malik Jabir or" goal thief "Hammond. But well destiny is so. Paul Scholes is a better by far an accomplished footballer than David Beckham but the later is popular than the former.

Massa I saw ollabode play, good footballer with a poor attitude. Whilst he was lazying himself by never training Abedi was running 24/7 at the beach. Ollabode turns up for training at hassacas in sekondi only on Fridays to play on Sunday then go back to girls and booze in Accra and come back to sekondi on Friday to train. Where did his career go. Nowhere. Abedi worked hard and was committed. We all saw it from when he was 16 at kotoka I swag park when he played for farcos.

Osei Kofi and Polo were fantastic dribblers but not explosive.they played beautiful football but not aggressive productive football. I saw Polo play and we were always in awe of his skills, but Abedi took it to a different level. Dribbler, scorer, explosive speed, strength with the ball, fantastic header of the ball, I mean the complete footballer. Abedi had all the attributes of Maradona including the arrogance on the pitch. No African player comes close to the maestro. Abedi didn’t destroy black stars, our management system did that’s why we are still struggling. My only problem with him now is to tell Jordan and Dede to quit the black stars now

Are we talking about Achievements in soccer or we are talking about pure talent? If we are talking about pure talent, the Abedi Pele who I know very well is never anywhere the talent of Polo or even Osei Kofi, Amusa Gbadamoshie and the rest. The talent of Abedi and Nii Moi Polo was settled at the Bokom square in a game between soccer Millionaires and Enugu Rangers. Nii Moi was more talented than Abedi. Abedi copied some of the styles of play of Polo. As a matter of fact most Ghanaian players copied Polo in his days. When it comes to football achievements in Europe Abedi rains supreme. When it comes to Africa and Ghana football achievements, Abedi is far low to most of our Great old footballers.
