Sweden based Adukor keen on Satellites

The list may have already been drawn and the invited players already in camp preparing for the game but Sweden based central midfielder Joachim Adukor is so keen on playing for Ghana he wants a call-up to join the 22 players invited for the Black Satellites to start preparations yesterday for an international friendly against Italy’s U-20 team next month.

“I want to be part of the team and if they call me now I will be happy but I want to be part of the team for the 2013 Youth Championship both Africa and World.

“I will play a major role in the team and make sure we are in the African Youth Championship and in the World Youth Championship,” said Adukor who plays for Gefle IF in the Swedish top flight.

There, he plays alongside two other Ghanaians, former Asante Kotoko and national team star Yusif Chibsah as well as little known Zakaria Abdullai.

The former Emirates FC of Tema (Division One) midfielder who admires Michael Essien, Kaka and Yaya Toure, says the elderly compatriots have been helpful in the quest to achieve his career dreams.

“It’s really going great, they have been helping me on and off the pitch and am really grateful.

“Well the season has just ended and now I will come home for vacation and prepare for preseason God willing.

“My target is to play for one of the biggest club in the world and win the Champions League and the World Cup as well,” 18 year old Joachim Adukor stated.
