Kayserispor's manager Robert Prosinecki is reported to have stopped the sale of Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah to rivals Besiktas.
The 25-year old was close to joining Besiktas after the Turkish giants met with officials and representatives of the player last week.
However, it is understood coach Prosinecki did not agree with the transfer of the player, who is an integral member of his squad this season.
The offensive midfielder recently returned from a lengthy lay off and is expected to play an important role in the club's fight against relegation.
Pedro Henrique and Artem Kravets are the other players the Croatian tactician is bent on keeping in the winter transfer window.
Despite his attempt in stopping the Ghanaian's move, Galatasaray are lurking around to make a move on the player this January.
Mensah joined the Anatolian Stars in the summer after a good loan spell last season.
