About World College Radio Day

The aim of College Radio Day is to raise the profile of college radio stations across the world and encourage increased student participation in the medium of college radio.

The day is also designed to encourage people who would not normally tune into their local college radio station to do so, and hopefully stay listening because they like what they hear!

Above all, the day is a celebration of college radio that reminds people, on and off campus, that college radio is still alive and kicking on many campuses across the country.

About Radio Univers 105.7FM

Radio Univers is undoubtedly Ghana’s number one campus-based Radio Station.

It was established in 1994 and has lived up to its role as a radio station that promotes student journalism.

Of the numerous campus radio stations in the country, it is one of the few that serves as a training hub for students with interest in broadcasting.

Under the leadership of its station manager, Dr. Abubakar Sidick Ahmed, Radio Univers has over the years transformed students to become distinguished media persons in Ghana including Nathan Kwabena Adisi (Bola Ray) of EIB, Bernard Avle of Citi FM, Kwame Gyan of the National Communications Authority among others.

Other persons who have undergone training at Radio Univers have become instrumental in other sectors of the economy.
