Komla Klutse, a journalist with TV3 has apologized to Dagbon following his interview with the new Ya-Naa Abukari Mahama II at the Gbewaa Palace at the weekend

Many residents of the area believe the manner in which the interview was conducted symbolizes gross disrespect for the overlord and demanded that he apologize for what they termed misconduct.

The journalist in a post on his Facebook page stated “I am sorry if culturally, part of my interview with the Ya-Naa offended viewers in anyway. I did not set out to embarrass him nor offend the people of Dagbon” not his agenda to embarrass.

According to him, it was not his intention to embarrass the Ya-Naa asking for forgiveness from the King and other residents of the Dagbon who feel offended by the interview.

A group calling itself the Dagbon Forum has earlier issued a statement condemning the actions of the journalist indicating it sought to denigrate the King.

A release issued on Sunday night in respect of the matter reads in part "Dagbon Forum condemns in no uncertain terms the gross display of disrespect shown by Komla Klutse of TV3, when he interviewed Ya Naa Abukari II, at the Gbewaa Palace after the highly successful and historic coronation, on Saturday 26th January 2019.”
