Vodafone gives GHC5000.00 to winner of Coding project in Takoradi

Mr Gayheart Mensah, the Director of External Affairs of Vodafone-Ghana, has pledged the company’s commitment to ensure the massive digitization process across the length and breadth of the country to raise the level of ICT education and usage.

The digitization agenda, which seeks to rope in more than 10000 youth, would expose them to the various facet of ICT to enable them to use technology to solve today’s challenges and create jobs for themselves.

“One of such initiative is the National coding project which we have witnessed today in the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region,” he said after a five-day camp of innovators who pitched various on-line services for the commercialization and ease of use by consumers.

The coding project was to enable Ghanaian youth to keenly compete ideas using ICT platform to find solutions to every problems in the areas of sanitation, education, transportation and other social interventions that gave consumers convenience.

The best innovation took home a sum of GH?5000.00 as a start-up to launch their innovation in the market space for patronage.

Mr Mensah said a group of seasoned marketers were also deployed to assist the young innovators with marketing tools and skills that could best sell their ideas.
