The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has jumped to the defense of the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr Mensa Otabil.

According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, Nketiah, also known as General Mosquito, argued that it is wrong to subject the man of God to a media trial.

Speaking to Okay FM, General Mosquito revealed that he is an investment banker, and therefore prefers to wait for the report from the Economic and Organize Crime Office (EOCO) before he passes his comments.

He further noted that the issue of the collapse of the Capital Bank is still under investigations, and as such, a media trial is unfair.

Dr. Mensa Otabil, has been in recent times, been the subject of discussions among a cross-section of Ghanaians with respect to his role at the defunct Capital Bank.

Dr. Otabil, in a press statement argued that as the then Board Chairman of the Capital Bank, he was not involved in the daily administration of the bank.

This has however done little to calm nerves, as a number of Ghanaians, including former employees of the bank, have called for a release of their benefits.
