Wilmar rewards distributors with GHC8m cash prize

Wilmar Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Ghana Specialty Fats Industries, producers of Frytol cooking oil and importers of Fortune Rice, has held its customer loyalty award 2018, dubbed “Ramadan to Christmas’’ (R2C) Elite Distributors Awards (3.0)” at Marriott Hotel-Accra.

R2C (3.0) rewarded distributors with cash prize worth GH¢8million with some individuals getting as much as GH¢800,000. Other rewards to distributors in about 23 categories are; Samsung Mobile phones and TV sets, plaques, certificates, souvenirs and a generator.

The aim of the awards is to appreciate distributors hard-work and motivate them to continue doing business with Wilmer Ghana as most of them keep ploughing back their profit.

The Overall Best Distributor (3.0), which is the biggest award on the night, went to Kaysen Gaisie Ltd. Walking away with a 6.5 kVA generator and a cash prize. Kaysen Gaisie also won five other awards.

Kyei Bekind Enterprise Ltd and Perfect Personal won the second and third place respectively. Walking away with Samsung S9+ mobile phone and 54’ Television set.

The General Manager of Wilmar, Kwame Wiafe, indicated that the awards come off after a special achievement-based program which starts from Ramadan in May and ends in Christmas, December, after which customers who distinguish themselves in terms of their business relationship with the organisation are rewarded and R2C is a cumulation of the various awards.

“One side of the award is that those who meet the target for R2C are given a vacation outside of the country and this year’s winners were taken to Thailand for a one-week vacation. In addition to that those who performed exceptionally, meeting certain KPI’s, are then recognised and presented with certificates and other tangible items like televisions, mobile phones and other things,” he said.

Wilmar Ghana Limited’s core line of production is refining crude palm oil sourced both locally and internationally, with 1000 metric tonnes refinery at Tema-Accra. The refined edible oil is branded as Frytol for sale on the market and a subsequent fatty by-product is used for soap and margarine production.
