I am a native born black American eighty-two years of age. American whites are both angry and frightened. Why? The Bureau of the Census and the Pew Research center has predicted they will be in a minority by mid century, 2050. Melinated people they want gone.
They fear once they become a minority, blacks will mistreat them like they have mistreated blacks. So they want more non melinated people and not melinated ones. Trump promised them he would get rid of illegals and he's kicking them out by the plane loads. If you as a Ghanaian come to America and become employed,do not run afoul of the law. You will be booted out in days. If you work hard, save, obey the law, keep away from the wrong people, and plan ahead you should do ok. It's all up to you.

We waste years waiting for the day to travel abroad only to reach and know you shouldnt have come but should have done something home.

Listern to the advise and till the land you are on. If you prosper in that you can holiday all the world and this countries would beg and honour you to visit them.

Thats the secret, make money home and you are on the go.. dont wait your years dreaming!

It is unfortunate that some of our folks come to Ghana and tell us not to travel.
I remember when I was in secondary school in Ghana, my father's cousin came from Germany and I told him I want to study there in Germany. He said everything to discourage me. He told me to stay in Ghana and use my talent because I am very clever.
A year or two later he came to take all his four children to Germany.
Does he love me more than his children?
I live in the UK now and I have all my children with me. I lived in Ghana for the first part of my life after tertiary education. Ghana doesn't have much opportunities for young people. If you get the chance go abroad and build a future for yourself. When I got to Europe I developed myself. I went back to university and studied. I went back to do undergraduate studies and moved up from there. Guys, what I will tell you is, when you get the chance to travel abroad, don't think of coming to build a house in Ghana. Think of having a good education and a good life there. Many Ghanaians make that mistake of looking for money to build a house in Ghana. They live in cubicles to save money for that project.
We travel abroad to better ourselves. Educate yourself. Look for means to regularize your stay in that foreign country. Then pursue education.
If you get the chance, take it. Go to America, UK, Germany...But study!
Have a goal, have a purpose!
There is no money on the streets. There is no easy money abroad!
Go and develop yourself in terms of education and getting a lucrative skills that will help your future.
If you get the chance ,GO!

It is good to travel and study. But one doesn't need to remain overseas like your poor self. Go back to your country with the skills and stop deceiving the gullible who will take all the risk just to travel abroad.

The truth is, I have never been poor. I am from a wealthy Kwahu family. I had a better life in Ghana before leaving for Europe.
Don't insult people you don't know. Mutual respect is the foundation of a very good dialogue. People talk from experience. I left Ghana after being attacked twice by armed robbers at gun point. My experience in Europe and the Americas have been fantastic.
My family members in Europe, Canada and America have great lives. We will talk and advice based on our experiences. I have rich relatives in Ghana whose lives I admire as well.
So please, Paa, have respect in expressing your opinion. I still respect your opinion even if you disagree with me. Maybe you had a very bad experience abroad but that is not the case with me and my relations.
I would like every young person to experience life outside of their own country. It is a good learning curve whether it is good or bad.

I am convinced that most Africans are running away from our SOCIAL CULTURES and looking for a more structured environment with rules that we can count on and a decent EFFORT and REWARD system that we can benefit from. It is either that or the fact that blacks of African decent like to see white pale skin and hair and kiss white man ass. That is simply my analysis of this issue. Speaking of social cultures have you seen the kind of back biting, name calling, pull him down , aggressive disregard for progress and mean spirited social rhetoric Africans mete out to themselves casually?

The problem with Africa and Ghana in general is that, our social cultures of ridiculing each other..the jokes we play on each other and the un-progressive cultures we have is really what many are running from. They are not running from poverty or anything. Have you noticed how upper class Ghanaians stay away from the lower classes and their social ways of interacting with each other? We can all agree that we all desire a more secure and structured system where we can have some isolation to come up with new inventions and new ideas and thought processes, yet our social culture demands that we are constantly interacting with each other in very casual useless ways where we are not even discussing any real issues. Rather we engage in teasing, name calling, jokes that are all derogatory in nature. So in a nutshell, there is no cure for our issues. We just need to shut up and deal with it.
