Yes, the scholarships have been in existence for a long time but have you heard them advertised before. They could have refused to go for such scholarships. Their parents who paid and lobbied to get the scholarships should buy tickets for them back home. Until then, let them survive on their own. It is a lesson to them.

And for 2017/18 academic year, it was advertised on the scholarship secretariat official website as well. You may want to think of the diplomatic implications for our country to send students abroad for studies, and leave them for their visas to expire when they are done with their studies and ready to come home. Can we for once look at things objectively without dirty funny Ghanaian politics and emotional sentiments?

Government's total neglect of kindergartens and nurseries is regrettable and we should also be finding ways and means of laying strong foundations in the core subjects for our children who find themselves in poorly - endowed institutions.
To me the indecent haste to provide free secondary school education is highly misplaced. We really have to think through our policies.
Perhaps we have all forgotten the moment Bishop TD Jakes asked President Mahama to surround himself with thinkers. President Akuffo Addo better heed the advice. Swearing on the political platform to introduce the scheme does not preclude him, in the face of the dire straits he finds the economy, from revising his plans. We need to tackle the fundamentals.
