  We're not making any progress in controlling these insects. They keep spreading and now attacking other crops. Recruiting Extension volunteers is not the only way forward. Think about resourcing the existing AEAs because the volunteers will be made more redundant when they are posted. How are they going to commute themselves to farms? Should the AEAs use their own salaries for fuel or take loan to buy motorbikes???

  Let me tell you that army worms are not easy to contain. I lived in a farming community in Ashanti in the 60s and when they attacked maize farms, it was just bad, sometimes uncontrollable. The Zambians can attest to that. What makes the situation serious is that the chemicals used on them are also on food for humans. That is why we need to be careful with the chemicals we use too.

  Our talking president continues to talk even when everything seems not going right. They now know its easier to criticise than to rule and that's the reason Mahama told them they did not qualify to criticise him cos they never were ever close to the presidency let alone ever feel the heat there. Nana Addo organised meet the press at the presidency but had not enough knowledge answering very simple questions. Its the saddest moment in the history of Ghana.
