The Npp government should be driving towards making the charges on all goods and vehicles imported into this country public to curtail most of the corruption at the ports of Ghana. All vehicles and their duties must be calculated base on the CC and put out there for the public to know before importing,if prices of good can be displayed at the super market for everyone to see,why should custom charges be left in secret therefore giving the custom officer the right to negotiate and determine duties which sometimes land in their pockets?the government must also decouple the calculation of duties base on prevailing exchange rates, this puts pressure on the cedis because as soon as people sell they rush to buy dollars. After that government can propose to review upwards or downwards of duties July each year, that's the only way corruption can be fought at customs division,it can not be left at their discretion it breeds corruption.Npp should think, the loopholes at the port can be plug, individuals re stealing and killing cooperate Ghana.
