The government should tread cautiously in its bid to allow the Atiwa forest and it's environs to be exploited by the unscrupulous Chinese who have left a trail of devastation anywhere they have mined.
While the world is anxious that we keep this most important resource intact for guaranteed source of water for millions of citizens and for wealth generation through eco - tourism, the President who hails from the area, is disingenuously bent on destroying the Atiwa forest.
It is noteworthy that the majority of critics of the goverment's betrayal are non -indigenes while the likes of Osafo Maafo, who had previously cried foul at the exploitation of Akyem resources, now supports the rape of Atiwa.
The government must listen to the rumblings from the nationalists. The sound is ominous.
