I received a call from Tema Harbour Police Station to come with the car which I have taken out of the Harbour with the help of another agent.
Since I don't have lience I left the car in Kumasi and went there with a guy. Immediately I got there I was arrested and put behind bar for 7hours and I saw this fraudster agent sitting on top of the table with this Officers laughing and taking notes till a very nice gentle police man got wind of my story through this guy I took with and oder my release.
Not all of them are bad but the bad ones have and still damaging their image

They are a shameful lot and never seem to be stopping their disgraceful behaviour. As for those officers handling cases for opposing factions in a conflict, their own is despicable. They "eat" from both sides, and often go to the extent of relaying information back and forth between these factions. Very heartless, unprofessional conduct among some of these personnel. Too sad some of the innocent ones rather have to fall in the line of duty.

I understand the sentiment of this woman, though I do not share it. I, like a lot of other Ghanaians, believed that that Ghana Police is 100% rotten and to the core. About three weeks ago however, I met a policeman who changed my mind and attitude by his honesty. I was overwhelmed. Now, I am ready to say that 98% of the Ghana Police may be corrupt, but there are a few within the service who go to work everyday and carry out their assignments as deligently as they can. No matter where you live, whether in the diaspora or in the motherland, the police is the one institution that holds the society together. Without the Police, there will be total anarchy. There is reason for me not to like the Police, but I am sober enough to also appreciate their utility. My condolences to the family of the dead policeman.

People can support the lady for saying her mind but she has dug her own grave. The police will arrest her and when she is being dealt with she will beg and say it is the work of the devil. Do you know how many lives are destroyed when a policeman takes 10 cedis to allow a bad driver go free? Do you know how many lose their lives and livelihood by the corrupt acts of these men-in-black who are paid with our taxes? Who accounts for it? When can we have our feelings about their disgraceful and shameful behaviors properly and tacitly expressed to them? Surely a turning point must arrive. Somehow the GRAVE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR CORRUPT ACTS MUST END... Else our innocent citizens will sift some relief with joy at such unfortunate instances.

She is right for saying that Police service seems to always go after petty thieves and then allow the hardened criminals the lee way to get bail or jump bail and then they go on to cause serious harms to the same citizenry again , simply because the police failed to put hem away in the 1st place. After all, whats the point in sentencing a plantain thief to 10 years in Prison or say, a wee / marijuana smoker to even 2 years in prison when the hardened ones are walking freely in our very neighbourhoods. Again, our prisons aren't a reformative places to sentence the petty criminals to rather they have become a graduate institute for expanding and graduating crooks and hardened criminals back into our fragile society. Fragile because our morals are low and the police aren't doing their work.

It saddens me whenever ghanains raise down on police whenever they are tagged with corruption as if they are the only corrupt institution in Ghana. We have all paid our way through something in our lives and yet we see nothing wrong with it. How sad it is that an officer will die by trying to salvage a situation and we sit here to jubilate over their death when non of us know how we are going to die. The president Nana Addo should check himself. Most of his life style is European. How can the Ghana police enjoy free accommodation, utility bills, fat salaries and ontop take bribe. President, I think you are an European product?In France and U.K. where you spent most of your life pre and post politics, what happens when you commit traffic offence? It's very simple. Create wealth for the state by introducing a minimum traffic offence fines. Examples, GHS100.00 for over speeding, Ghs50.00 for default tyres, lights etc etc etc all to be paid at the post offices instead of ending in the police pockets. Nana Addo, is this Magic?Introduce these minor fines and see drivers and car owners queue at the post offices to make payment. Create wealth to subsidise for their free accommodation and the utility bill so.The maximum fine should be, driving without insurance.

I was arrested my self bcos my brother who was sitting behind me was not wearing a helmet. Fine . These police men took us to the central police station mttu to take from each person Gh100 cedis before you can get your bike back. Tell me where is the money they took from us going? Over 40 to 50 bikes were released that day when you give them gh100 cedies . They are killing their fellow men . If they were to be back up at the lapaz station they will have prevented this bad situation but rather taking money from riders.

I'm surprise Ghanaian's will mercilessly castigate the police after one of its members was murdered in brood day light by armrobbers. .I'm even the more amazed by these negative comments when the officer died in line of legimate duty. It's only a witch who will happily applaud the death of a fellow human. I have friends and relatives who are in the police service and saddened by the event. We should note that the govt intention to recruit 8000 police officers are not going to be drafted from space.Our relatives and friends are going to form a bulk of this exercise. Yes. it's true there are a few bad nuts among the police, I bet u majority of these officers are the finned. The IGP is one descent officer I admire from afar. I strongly believe that if the more focused govt of Nana/bawus give him the needed support which I'm certain they will, he will give the police force a new face. Bright oduro and his second I/c at the cid headquarters I learnt are also doing well. Let us as ordinary citizens offer them the support than the unnecessary negative and blind insults. Can we imagine our societies w/o the police. Lawlessness and arrant disorder will be the order of the day. Undue criticism will demoralize them the more and this could take them to their lowest ebb. Who suffer then?

Moreover is it only the Police Service that tends to be corrupt? Think of the Immigiration Service, Customs ,Ports n Harbours, Corruption at the various Ministries etc meanwhile these institutions does not work to the expends of their lives. Our selfless dedication as Policemen to work without reservation always puts peace at the door steps of every Ghanaian.Do the public really think that Policemen are superhuman? Do they also think of our inadequate facilities to equip us to work up to expectations??? Its because of the bad things they always do which people continue to curse them.You will have an issue but because you don't have money, the will collect money from the offender and make your case a foolish case.
