There are guidelines to what we do, we just don't take our own decision like that.

This is very good job done. Those keeping useless, ugly, and overstarved dogs in Ghana must be tasked to pay daily tax because they mostly don't feed dogs well. So, dogs are seen in streets, at refuge dumps, and all odd places in search of waste food on the ground, from which dogs can acquire various zoonotic pathogens. It is really terrible in Ghana. I wish the yet-to-be-enacted law bans moving dogs without supervision in streets. What a useless system we have there, despite all kinds of knowledge, educations, etc.!

few
professionals trained on the country's
resources are at home. Why won't we
witness the recent incidents?
Let us not forget that most of slaughter
facilities in the country lack veterinary staff to
inspect meat and meat products. Quarantine
stations are deserted for lack of vets giving
rise to transboundary diseases communicable
from animals to man. The activities of quacks
have resulted antimicrobial resistance in
human bodies making healing impossible
whenever we visit hospitals. Cancer is of no
exception. 75% of diseases in man originates
from animals. Anthrax, recent incidence of
tuberculosis in Ghanaians, brucellosis is
rendering most Ghanaians sterile and barren.
All kinds of worm infestations, salmonella
typhoid, weil's disease and whole lot. Yet
Government of Ghana has paid a death ear to
veterinary services in Ghana in recent times.
Most of the huge tonnage of imported meats
and meat products at our ports and harbours
go unchecked for lack of vets. Where do we
stand as people of this sovereign state?
Meanwhile technical hands trained by the
country's only college on the country's
resources are homed with their expertise.

"After the exercise, Dr Simon Gbene, the Acting Director of the Service in the Western region noted that this is the first time Ghana has destroyed an animal through Euthanasia though it is very common in the Western countries" This statement is so not true. Witnessed so many euthanasia whiles in Veterinary School, KNUST so this can't be its first time in Ghana.
