Ghanaian ministers and their arrogance. Calling the diaspora community who paid their own air fares 'Whiners' after traveling over 3000 miles to help develop the country. I thought the president advised them during the swearing in to humble and calm in all circumstances. Four information ministers and the same mistakes as the past government's information team. Similar from the agric minister. Dr. Afriyie Akoto and deputy finance mister, Kwaku Agyeman Kwarteng and others. I think the president and his team must wake up. I think the president and his vice's posture are far apart from his appointees.

THIS DEPUTY MINISTER KNOWS BETTER BUT THE POSITION HE IS CURRENTLY OCCUPYING HAS IMMENSED HIM IN THE ARROGANT CULTURE ALL OVER AGAIN. I KNOW HE HAS LIVED IN THE STATES OR SO FOR MANY YEARS. BEFORE THE ELECTION, I WATCHED AND HEARD HIM ON NEWSFILE A COUPLE OF TIMES AND HE WAS SO AFFABLE, HUMBLE AND CONCERNED ABOUT THE ROT HAPPENING IN THE NDC. NOW HE HAS GOT A PRIVILEGED POSITION SO HE CAN TALK ANYHOW HE LIKES. HE KNOWS BETTER BECAUSE HE IS AWARE OF THE RELENTLESS PRESSURE MINISTERS AND SECRETARIES OF WHERE HE LIVED FOR MANY YEARS ARE UNDER EVERYDAY. WHAT HAS CHANGED IN HIS LIFE AND CIRCUMSTANCES? AFRICAN POWER. IT CAN BE ARROGATED WITHOUT QUESTION. IT CAN BE LORDED OVER SUBJECTS AND THEY DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO COMPLAIN. THEY ARE NOT PUBLIC SERVANTS BUT PUBLIC MASTERS. NO WONDER THE AUDITOR GENERALS REPORT AND THE PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE ARE JUST A CHARADE. HOWEVER, HEW HAS MET HIS MATCH WHICH IS REFRESHING.
LOOK, HIS HEAD SHOULD ROLE. OTHERWISE THE PRESIDENT SHOULD BE INFORMED THAT THERE IS MORE OF THIS ARROGANCE TO COME. THE PRESIDENT SHOULD ALSO BE ON NOTICE THAT MANY PEOPLE WHO USED TO VOTE FOR THE NDC DID NOT TURN UP TO VOTE IN 2016 AND IF HE CONTINUES TO SIT ALOOF, THE CARPET WILL BE DRAGGED FROM UNDER HIS FEET.
THIS IS A TIME THAT THE CITIZENRY HAVE TO SEND A CLEAR MESSAGE TO WHOEVER IS IN POWER THAT THEY ARE THERE TO SERVE NOT MASTERS AS PER THE CONSTITUTION.

County Judge Ed Emmett has appointed Kwame B. Acheampong to the newly created Harris County International Advisory Council.
The core responsibility of the Advisory Council is to advice the County Judge and the Commissioners Court on economic development opportunities involving foreign countries and businesses.
Harris County is the largest county in terms of population - over four million and with enormous resources in the State of Texas and the fourth largest county in the United States.
Kwame, a long-time resident of Harris County brings to the Advisory Council an experience in international business development. He is a businessman and expert in public policy and local government development.
He has previously served in a similar capacity for Harris County by promoting small to medium-sized businesses in Harris County, the Gulf Region of Mexico and The Caribbean.
He also served as Ghana’s Trade and Investment Representative to the United States under Ministry of Trade & Industry, Private Sector Development and President’s Special Initiatives during President Kufuor’s government. He has for 16 years served as an Adjunct Professor of Government at the Houston Community College.
The Harris County International Advisory Council envisions to expand trade missions abroad from Harris County and its neighboring counties while effectively interacting with foreign delegations that visit the county which includes City of Houston.
”I will endeavor to leverage my presence on the Council to promote Ghana as an attractive investment destination to the numerous CEOs and business executives I will have the privilege of interacting with.
Houston is the energy capital of the world and Harris County has a strong medical research and aerospace technology presence, as well as the third largest port in the United States and I believe all of these will present some opportunistic synergies for Ghana”, according to Mr. Acheampong.
Kwame is a graduate of Rice University and the prestigious Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

The government has a penchant for pedantics regarding involving Ghanaians in the diaspora but it is all chatter and empty rhetoric. For 30 years, we have had a white American as the Ghana Honorary Consul to Houston when we have very qualified people who could better do the job of promoting foreign investment in Ghana. The Consul's job is not only about issuing visas but creating trading relationships for Ghana and in that regard, the current Consul has failed abysmally.
Besides running to Ghana every 3 months to ingratiate himself with the officials and singing their praises to ensure that he keeps the job, he doesn't really do much. To add insult to injury, not a single Ghanaian works or has ever worked in his office. And now he has his grandchildren working over there as he physically does not do any of the work.Is the Consul job a dynasty to be passed on from generation to generation? And what is he hiding by excluding Ghanaians from working at his office? We appreciate his service but 30 years is enough as we have enough qualified Ghanaians in Houston with the advantage of understanding the culture and economic dynamics of the country who can do a better job. And you should never discount the intangible benefit of patriotism and loyalty to one's place of birth, no matter how long one has been away. The current Consul's loyalty when push comes to shove is to the USA and not to Ghana. He needs to go!

I was in Ghana checking on my enterprise there and attended part of this conference - wasn't there for this so called minister's comment but was for the response - this so called minister is a twat - diasporans know that Ghana should and could easily be so much better because we've seen what countries in the outside world have done without a fraction of the resources that we have - my co-workers at my enterprise in Ghana are ordinary people who have not had the opportunity to travel abroad and see how things are done outside, but this twat of a minister and the rest of the "elite" have - yet they allow the ordinary mass of Ghanaians to suffer in shoddy squalor - go to Tema station or Madina or Circle stations in Accra and tell me that I am lying - we complain that the weather is too hot - heat is energy - why aren't we converting it - we complain about the intensity of the rains -- water is power, it can run turbines - why aren't we doing so - it's easy to import small quantities into Ghana but difficult to export at reasonable cost - i often can't produce because the current is low - i've had to cement part of the gutter in front of my office/shop because the local authority hasn't - etc., etc., etc., why shouldn't I complain when i've invested time and money in Ghana - when you've eliminated my whingeing Mr Minister, you will have done your job and justified your salary, 4x4, travel expenses etc., etc., etc.,...all paid for by the ordinary suffering Ghanaian - until then, stop your own whingeing or go back Coca Cola or whatever corporate largesse-filled life you led before and let someone who will actually eliminate the "whingeing" and not simply be a rent-seeking occupier of space, do so
