What is this dust being thrown into Ghanaians' eyes about Akufo-Addo all of a sudden being a saint, the so-called incorruptible Ghanaian politician? What arrant nonsense!!! Do we Ghanaians not know very well Akufo-Addo and the role he played in the corrupt NPP administration under Kufuor's leadership? Is Akufo-Addo's track record of corruption not available for all Ghanaians to see? Why are NPP people and those disguised politicians like this Casely-Hayford attempting to mislead us Ghanaians by trying to paint a picture of Akufo-Addo that he is not? Why do they think that we can all of a sudden forget who Akufo-Addo really is?

Those corruption allegations hanging around Akufo-Addo's neck that he stubbornly failed to aaddress before the 2016 elections can never be wished away by Casely-Hayford and NPP people. Ghanaians will keep reminding themselves of Akufo-Addo and the NPP's true dirty colours. Below are some that have already been posted on Ghanaweb.com:

1. Like former President Kufuor, Akufo-Addo claims to be a lawyer, but he has failed to tell Ghanaians where precisely he earned his law degree. We do know that he was kicked out of the University of Oxford and that he returned home and entered the University of Ghana where he earned a mere 3rd class degree in economics. He claims his law certificate is missing, but are there not legal ways and means of getting a replacement of his certificate if he did in fact earn it but lose the original?

2. As Attorney-General and Minister of Justice in the Kufuor administration, Akufo-Addo oversaw the de-confiscation of his cousin Raymond Amankwah, a noted cocaine baron's frozen assets and returned them to him. This Amankwah was arrested in Brazil for cocaine trafficking and imprisoned. By de-confiscating and returning his frozen properties, Akufo-Addo enabled him to get away scot-free.

3. As Attorney-General, Aklufo-Addo in 2001 suddenly discontinued prosecuting one Frank Benneh for drug trafficking, a case that the then NDC's Deputy Attorney-General Mr. Martin Amidu, had started prosecuting vigorously.

4. As Attorney-General, he failed willfully to prosecute three NPP Dzorwulu branch drug queens who had been arrested in February 2002 at the Kotoka International Airport for attempting to export cocaine outside the country. Not only did the case vanish into thin air, but their dockets also mysteriously disappeared from Akufo-Addo's office.

5. Unlike any other NPP (or their antecedents of UP or Progress Party) leader or potential leader, Akufo-Addo alone has been accused of drug addiction. Why is it so?

6. As Minister of Foreign Affairs, Akufo-Addo issued at least 12 diplomatic passports (which actually were alleged to be missing) to his cronies. In fact, one of those passports was found with a Ghanaian cocaine deader who was arrested in Singapore.

7. The GNPC drill ship saga also hangs around Akufo-Addo's neck. What happened to the rest of the money from the sale of the ship? Remember, this case was mentioned against him in the Auditor-General's report. Akufo-Addo was said to have caused financial loss to the state.

8. And when the history of the Fourth Republic is written, it will be indicated that it was the Kufuor's NPP administration that turned Ghana into a cocaine hub in the West African sub-region and that Akufo-Addo was a key minister in that administration.

9. Indeed, as a parliamentarian, Akufo-Addo pushed hard for a law, dubbed "Amoateng Bill", to be promulgated to essentially permit Ghanaian drug offenders jailed in Thailand to be returned to Ghana to serve the rest of their terms.

10. As Foreign Minister during the Kufuor administration, his Ministry withdrew US$1,446,396.00 from its Special Collections Accounts of seven embassies without the prior knowledge and consent of the Controller and Account-General. Also, an amount of US$106,168.00 was misappropriated at the Ghana mission in Cote d'Ivoire

The above are among the pertinent corruption allegations made against Nana Akufo-Addo that he he failed to addresse. You can't merely ignore them and pretend that you're uncorrupt and incorruptible. It is only in Ghana whose citizenry are so stupid as to ignore that kind of your background and so voted to make you president. You have just succeed in throwing dust into the eyes.

Nana Akufo-Addo, your promise to tackle corruption if you became president can be likened to a cat that pledges to those in the animal kingdom that it can take good care of all the mice if it's given that responsibility. You and the NPP administration raped Ghana and tarnished its reputation when it comes to the issue of corruption. It was during the Kufuor administration, of which you played an integral part as Attorney-General & Minister of Justice and later as Minister of Foreign Affairs, that Ghana became a cocaine hub in the West African sub-region. Indeed, the NPP was dubbed "Cocaine Party" during that administration.

You can fool yourselves and the NPP electorate who stand to gain from your corruption as president. Your personal and the entire NPP's track record on corruption is well known and documented. Given your corrupt record, especially the way and manner in which you and your party raped Ghana left and right, only the devil must have opened the door for you to come back to power, your numerous false prophets leading the way. Thank God, the evil NPP elements like Kennedy Agyapong are there to expose you all, especially in terms of how your party used evil means to rig the 2016 elections. Already six months into your administration, there is talk about how corruption has already infected your ranks.

Of course, I can imagine those uncivilised and semi-literate NPP adherents who lack the ability to discuss the issues intelligently but who possess plenty of such insulting terms as "fool", "idiot", "aboa", "kwasia", "bull" and so on, coming on here to demonstrate their incivility; they are at liberty to do so, because I know that the truth hurts.

This is the same Casely who is exhorting Akufo-Addo to sack Ms. Safo for for her fabrication about the High School in her district.
