Another empty barrel with no wisdom but cheap talk, has he heard of transparency and being straight forward? Its the system that has been designed to be complicated so civil servants and politicians can rob disaporans of money ideas and projects easily . Bawumia is a thief and a liar , what innovative plans , are they not all ideas that you have stolen from those who developed them. Your presentation show that they are all half baked badly prepared because those with the copyrights or did the work were not aware of you intentions . Nobody in his right mind or with any true understanding of the science of development of nations would ever turn to the Chinese for any solutions and we in Ghana should know better , just look at what they did to us in the NDC 8 years , idiot.Wherever Chinese influence and capital is dominant the people are backward , retrogressing and in misery, thats a fact. We know that Bawumia must have used his mallams to do juju on Nana so Nana is blind to all this stupidity coming from this very toxic fool Bawumia. I am going to break things down here for all to understand. Being able to read or being literate doesn't mean you are educated no matter how many Phd degrees you can boast off. on the issue of galamsey what really destroys our country causing the poisoning of the waters and barrenness of the land are the heavy metals including mercury and cyanide. The quantities of this product could not be imported into this country without the political blessing and pro-activism of both the exporting country China and ours. China is an exporter of economic terrorism and undermining our economic potential by actively corrupting our willing politicians and strategically destroying the future of our children. These are the allies of pepeni Bawumia , Mahama and all other Akan haters and their traitors amongst us. Where in the world today could you transport such quantities of these poisons mercury , cyanide and such without it being monitored? Can China claim they didnt know? the bill to now sort out the sanitation , water cleaning and waste management is now over $ 40 billion DOLLARS. Why do we we need Chinese money when the American EXIM bank has publicly offered us tens of billions with the much needed technology yet they are ignored as only Chinese and arab/muslim money is acceptable? I have said many times that the corner stone of any country's development are the diaspora , check Germany Japan China etc but in our country infested by Islamic stupidity we have rather a whole ministry for Zongo stupidity instead of just deporting them.the pepeni /ayigbe conspirators together with their Muslim and Chinese allies continue unabated to destroy our Akanland and push our people into poverty under the watch of kwasiapsanyin Nana Addo. NDC lost the elections because most Akans and patriotic citizens realized this party does not appreciate or reflect the true interests of the people but rather its a mafia criminal organization that will cause the eventual bloodshed among our people. After the death /murder of Mills NDC lost all its appeal and there was no hope it would ever get back on the right track to serve the interests of the people.NDC is a disappointment and will end up on the landfill of rubbish organizations . NPP from the looks of things will most likely also be joining them soon and in their place the AKAN freedom movement will rise. Anytime an Akan actually does something good or worthy for the nation some pepeni , ayigbe , Muslim or some other minority comes and destroys everything dead, that is the fact. 58% of our bauxite was handed over as a step to colonize the wealth of the Akan , were in the world would a minority be given such privileges if it was not to undermine the majority. All natural resources should be nationalized including gold , then properly developed as sustainable businesses then privatized through a coupon system so all citizens become direct owners . We are definitely a nation of idiotic fools , i have for a while decided to hold my peace because it seemed we have a sensible finance minister making the right moves but this toxic pepeni kwasiapanyin Bawumia has erased all good. Atta Mills went to bed with this Satan and it cost him his life together with 200,000 hardened criminals they sent here that have poisoned our water bodies and long term devastated our economy. China has ignored over a billion of their citizens in dire need of the entering into the post industrial era and come here and promise WHAT? I said that this Bawumia is the reincarnation of the devil and evil that air brained Nana has put in his office. He continues with his project of the islamisation of Ghana with the establishment of an Islamic university to breed toxic propagators of evil in our land. He blocks all Akan diaspora private capital in the tens of billions because its from primarily Christian countries. Where in the world has China given capital , technology and industry for another country to develop? The only reason why this is on the table is to make Ghana a suspicious ally at best to our western civilizations and other christian countries . We saw an influx of Islamic money which we don't need yet everyone played dumb because the political oligarchy is playing ball with the Muslim caliphate and soon our stubborn Christians will start seeing their children's throats being turned toward Mecca like goats and slashed . My brothers arm yourselves like our friends in Denkyira but wait for the clarion call to wipe out this cancer amongst us. Enough is enough

This minister? is a good example of the why Ghana has failing and dysfunctional institutions.
He seems to be saying "Bring your brains but don't use it and don't even dream of improving the situation"
You'd have to be a desperate 'diasporean' to pack your bags to live under this man's administration.

If the gov'ts of Ghana continue to treat diasporans as trouble makers then is good for them.
You see, your stand on issues like these depends on where you seat right now. The best thing that has happened to Ghana is the brain drain factor.Because it's a blessing in disguise. We can now treat it as brains in the drain or brain at work. How do we use our skills when the system is stacked against us?.We can't even open a school without paying bribes.
All along I had the feeling that the diasporan summit was meant to find a way to lure disporans back home. And, that means, making land acquisition, business registration and clearing of goods easier and less frustration process. That means all the red tapes will go away so that those who want to volunteer their services and skills can do so.I was hoping against hope that the gov't will talk about how to get dividend from the medical tourism industry so that we can bring home the Ghanaian doctors in the states and create jobs.I was hoping they would talk about how to create a better communication channel within the gov't where the disporans can voice and share their ideas and frustrations. We're not whiners,we just want to be part of building mother Ghana because we're sick tired of being the globetrotters. We want to live, work and ultimately die in Ghana instead of being the financial source of your sense of entitlements syndrome.Go to Israel and learn how they were able to recruit every jew into Israel. They don't call them whiners.

I bet you the person doing the most demeaning job here is better than you sitting there saying nonsense. We bring millions of cedis to Ghana each day, what do you use the money for? In a country where people build their own houses, connect water and electricity and somehow have to do roads to these houses, what does the govt do in return? Nothing. It has come to a time we have to hold govt to account, whatever money they borrow, they pay back one year before they leave or seek for re-election. All we are told, the country owes this that. I bet you many of us can pay how much they bill us with, if they share according to the number of population. People in diaspora do not turn up work late when it's raining or ask for tips when standing at the airport ( custom and immigration officials) and that is the skills we can offer you.

The deputy trade minister's statement to diasporans sounds stupid and discouraging. Why and what should prevent a persons who travels to Ghana to get certain initial administrative proceedures done within 2 weeks if the whole system is not corrupt?
In the first place, he should not have been appointed a minister because his statement contradicts how people put in positions are expected to execute duties they are assigned to.
He must first do his homework by making sure his ministry is free of corruption, wipe off loopholes that is allowing corruption and makes it attractive amongst his subordinates at the ministy he is heading before calling upon Ghanaians/diasporans, prospective investors and tourists with the assurance that the system is friendly and corrupt free rather than saying one cannot get things done within 2 weeks, or that one is prone to corruption should one want things done within that period of time.
Judging by his statement, it looks as if he, the Deputy Trade Minister is condoning corruption, the kanker in our society most investors are afraid of, which the present administration had promised to tackle.
Are we heading towards the right direction, after all?

I had challenged the Minister immediately after his shameful and disrespectful attitude towards the Diasporans who had gathered in the Hall. He had spent the greater part of his 25-minute presentation talking about himself, and his whatever personal "achievements". What was even more disconcerting was the fact that he was talking down on the Summit participants and lecturing us as if we were his JHS students.
Ghana is at least moving in the right direction now because some of us have been whinning and whinning very very productively. In 2001, many of us, Ghanaians in the Diaspora, trooped to Ghana at our own expense to engage with the government and Ghanaians on how to move the country forward in the first Diaspora Homecoming Summit. That was whinning! And it was good and it worked. Where was Ahomka Lindsay then?
In 2005, when the NPP government was so scared of the fierce opposition of the NDC to passing a law to allow Ghanaians living abroad the right to vote, some of us ( I was among a powerful group of 13 Ghanaians)who formed a group known as the Diaspora Vote Committee, traveled to Ghana at our own expense, held press conferences, radio and TV appearances, lobbied Parliament to have Parliament pass the ROPAL.
That was whinning extra-O! And we whinned and it worked!!! ROPAL was passed.
Well, after eleven years, the law we worked hard to get passed is still not implemented. We will continue to whine.
Where was this Ahonka-Lidsay then?
We will continue to whine until people like Ahonka Lindsay change their attitudes and behaviours. Call me the President of the Diaspora Whinners Association, Mr. Ahomka!!!

Ghanaian officials don't want diasporans here, period! Hence, the insults.
They feel threatened by our presence in Ghana. They know that we'd come in and challenge them to do the right thing. Some of them are afraid that diasporans will take their jobs and positions.
I doubt if anything positive would come out of the so-called Homecoming Summit.
A similar event was organized during Prez Kufour's time. Nothing positive came out of it. It was suggested at that summit to establish a diasporan secretariat at the Presidency. It didn't happen.
Other nations actively facilitate the return of their nationals.
Ghanaian officials rather insult and impede the return of diasporans.

Hmmm my brother, only two months you thought? I was in Ghana july, 2015, went to the DVLA to have my expired drivers' licence renewed, after having gone through all proceedures, in fact believe me one had to spend the whole day there in queue going into each officers room more than 2 times because according to them there is a new rule which allows each applicant to be well screened before a drivers' licence is issued.
Finally, i was issued with a temporarily paper cover with my photograph on it, valid for 3 months, the intention is that the card version would be ready within 3 months but that is the end of the movie.
Can you imagine it is 2 years already since i processed my licence and it's still not been issued.
These are issues our ministers put in place need to check before telling us to stop whinning like this arrogant Ahomka-Lindsay is trying to tell diasporans.
He seemed not cut for the job and like you said, can people like this effect any meaningful change in our country/economy?
