I personally think Eric Ofori is a critical player in the middle. The weakness was that neither Sackey or Abu were good in combination with him.
I feel like Rashid Sumalia needs to be getting more time. Boye had a bad game and Mensah was average. Afful needs to be replaced but I think the issue is that Yiadom is injured.
At the left back Lumor is excellent. His work rate is high. The experiment with Akiminko at the right back is interesting. I am not so sure if that will work out.
Overall, I think the team played well but we missed two goals. The Dwamena tap in and the Acheampong excellent cut in that hit the post.
Once again, it is the same old story with African teams on the international stage....finish chances. We create chances but cannot finish.
Sorry to say that it looks like the end of the road for Warris and Accam. I just do not see them scoring on the international stage. At club yes. Internationally, no.

Lobbying into the box and targeting should be improved.

Our players must start chipping opposing keepers when they find themselves one on one, instead of hitting the ball into the keepers' legs.

I do not feel embarrassed, because it was just an 0-1 loss.

But it can take a psychological toll on our players long-term, as the record now shows 0-1 (2006), 1-2 (2008), and now 0-1 (2017).

But I also know that when the stakes are high, that's when the Black Stars really rev it up, so this one too shall pass.

On the game itself,we merited a draw;it was unbelievable the work rate of our boys in such humid conditions.They were so confident in all phases of the game! No 22 was really really good and was a constant thorn to the Mexicans.
The left full back was a maestro as balls barely filtered through his end.
The Stars played real good and l cannot understand what Avram Grant did as a coach;where were all these boys all the while?
Granted the attacking game the boys exihibited, the Phaoroahs will certainly fall in our rematch.
A word of caution;Appiah please leave out all the so called "big names" that don't play "whooo" when fielded.One like Agyemang Badu and Jordan should be left out!

Question is, why did the Black Stars not score goals in normal playtime once they are playing a team 'B' Mexican side. No wonder he was reappointed the coach. He doesn't care to know and that suits his masters just fine. Clueless? Absolutely.
By the way, for Appiah and all those up in arms, there is always trash talk on the fields of play. Just watch the gestures of players towards each other and officials when called for an infringement. They are not praising their opponents or the referees. Appiah needs to grow up and shouldn't bring the bullshit, he used against Prince and Muntari, which badly affected our performance in Brazil.

How come Ghanaians continue to celebrate Accra Hearts of Oak side pulling a drawn game with the full squad of Nigerian national team in a world cup qualifier. The late coach Atuquafio stunned Ghanaians when he chose to field a club side with a crack national team that included the dreadful players of Sunday Oliseh, Amokachi, Babangida etc. What is now the difference if a similar scenario played out with Mexican team 'B' side and Kwesi Appiah is trying to run away with excuses of referee being a Mexican-American citizen who also used an 'F' word on one of his players, how did that affect the final outcome of the game the Black Stars lost. The hypocrisy should stop forthwith, it doesn't help our football to grow.

Also if you watch the game, you will see that Frank Acheampong always have to turn the ball around to his left foot to control the ball from the right wing of the field.So as a Coach you can't let your player shift on to the right wing of the field with his left foot. See how many chances Frank Acheampong couldn't make use of all the chances he got. This mistake started from the World Cup 2014 with Christian Atsu and this same Kwasi Appiah was in charge. "F" word, "N" word, "BS" word: if you are an 'international' coach and the above words affect your performance, then you have no business coaching a national side: football is played over 5400 seconds, if you concede a goal in the 2040 second before half time and can't figure out how to turn it around, don't come telling us any "BS" about any "F" word. Top level Football or any competitive sports are played by hard and aggressive guys, adrenaline pumps the entire duration, and refereed by 'no-nonsense, sometimes biased mfs', so 'if you can't stand the heat.....'. You accepted the job and all of the above come with the turf, deal with it. SOMEONE HAS TO TELL AKWASI APPIAH HOW TO TALK TO THE PRESS.THAT PRESS CONFERENCE HE MADE WAS ONE OF A VERY,VERY FOOLISH ONE.WHAT DOES HE MEAN,THE REFEREE IS A FIFA REFEREE.AFTER WATCHING THE MATCH HEADLINES THE REFEREE FAVOURS US A LOT.HE SHOULD HAVE SHOWN AFFUL A YELLOW CARD,ALSO HE ALLOWED THE FOOTBALL TO CONTINUED WHEN A MEXICO PLAYER WAS DOWN INJURED.AFTER ALL THE BLACK STARS PLATED VERY WELL.I LIKE THEIR SPEED AND POWER,THEY WERE ONLY LET DOWN BY THEY SHOOTING TO THE GOAL,AND THE DEFENDERS ESPECIALLY JOHN BOYE.HE HAS TO BE DROP IF AKAMANI HAS COME BACK.BUT APART FROM LACKING THE A WORLD CLASS STRIKER LIKE ASAMOAH DJANI THE BOYS DID WELL.

The referee wouldn't use the "F" word against an American or any European but African teams. GFA should file an official complaint with FIFA to investigate the referee's use of the "F" word during the match.
